Arborist Tree Services in Grand Rapids, MI
Dirk Bakhuyzen Jr., the owner of Procare Landscape Management Inc. and Soak, realized that the landscaping services in his area were lacking in a very important department: tree removal and tree care.
Proper tree care is above and beyond your normal landscaping service’s capabilities. As a landscaping business owner passionate about helping people, Dirk wanted to ensure that he was offering the best comprehensive landscape services available, so he started CHOP.

We take trees seriously, after all, they are the lungs of the planet. Just like you wouldn’t let anyone diagnose your health condition, not just anyone can take care of your trees.
Every person who works directly with trees at CHOP is a Certified Arborist. That means that our team has a deep knowledge of tree species, tree anatomy, behavior patterns, and health.
Our staff voluntarily takes part in the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification process because we care about properly maintaining the trees of our clients and providing the best tree service available in the state of Michigan. The ISA recognizes tree care professionals who possess a high level of knowledge and advanced training that is necessary to provide the best tree care possible.

Christy Garner
Co-Office Manager
Christy has been a Co-Office Manager at CHOP since 2000. Christy job shares with Joy, and the two of them represent CHOP every time they answer the phone. Christy has been with Procare long enough to really understand customer expectations. Christy is married to Mark and they have three children. Christy enjoys family time and weekends at her parents’ cottage.
Joy Gormon
Co-Office Manager
Joy has been Co-Office Manager at CHOP since 2003 and a real asset to the company since she came on board. She understands the tree industry and job shares with Christy. Joy is married to Paul and they have four children. Joy enjoys camping, biking, and a good book.
